Debut of Book Detailing South Coast Plaza’s 50 Years

South Coast Plaza, a limited-edition art book by Assouline, is a retrospective that celebrates South Coast Plaza’s 50 years and traces the heritage and transformation of the incredible landmark into an unparalleled commercial and cultural icon. The beautiful book details how the Segerstrom family created a world-wide shopping destination from humble farmland. The launch, held at South Coast Plaza’s Assouline store, was attended by members of the Segerstrom family and continued at a large reception in Jewel Court.


OC 500 Introduced

The 500 people driving economic growth in the area are annually listed in a publication researched and published by the Orange County Business Journal. An event was held at the Island Hotel to launch the publication and to introduce the 500 most influential business leaders, to which 350 people attended. The group is an acknowledgment of the leadership and influence the 500 have exhibited while leaving their mark on Orange County.

Foundation Holds Annual Meeting

A sold-out group of philanthropists and business and community leaders gathered at Hotel Irvine to hear OCCF President Shelley Hoss share that the foundation’s assets have grown to $302 million during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017–more than doubling from $144 million in 2012. Prominent community and business leaders shared their reasons for investing in philanthropy, including Buchanan Street Partners CEO Robert Brunswick, Donnie Crevier of Crevier BMW and Crevier Classic Cars, and Ginny Ueberroth and her daughter Vicki Booth, chairman and president of the Peter and Ginny Ueberroth Family Foundation, respectively.

Exhibit at John Wayne Airport

“The Aerial Photography History of Newport Center/Fashion Island” exhibit is on display at John Wayne Airport’s Orange County: Destination Art & Culture exhibition space through June, 2018. Fred L. Emmert and Richard N. Frost, co-authors of the book, “Newport Beach, California, Newport Center | Fashion Island, 50 Years in the Making,” arranged the exhibit which transports people through a visual journey of Newport Center/Fashion Island’s 50-year history. It is located in pre-security along the pedestrian walkway connecting Riley Terminals B and C.
