The LUANA Experience Series at
Fairmont Kea Lani Maui

Friday nights in Wailea are heating up, with an incredible lineup of engaging events and live music to help get the weekend started. Enjoy the stunning sunset view; progressive cocktails crafted by Aaron Alcala-Mosley, voted “Best Mixologist” by Maui Time’s “2017 Best of Maui,” and local music groups performing on both Friday’s and Saturday’s from 7 to 10 p.m.

The first Friday of the month, Firkin Friday, in partnership with Maui Brewing Company, offers cask ale & a firkin keg tapping. Poured straight from the keg using gravity rather than carbon dioxide, this is draft beer at its best. The keg is tapped at 4:30 p.m. featuring live music.

The second Friday, Project Cocktail is presented in conjunction with wine and spirit partners to highlight a different type of liquor each month. LUANA mixologists push their creativity to the max with themed cocktails, concoctions, live music and an entertaining atmosphere.

The Grape Escape, offered on the third Friday of each month, is an exciting night of themed wine pairings and live music. In partnership with Southern Wine & Spirits and MauiWine, this event showcases wines from around the world expertly paired with culinary delights by Executive Chef Tylun Pang. Tickets are $49, from 5 to 7 p.m.  Fourth Friday’s are reserved for Friday Night Films. Experience LUANA cocktails inspired by stars and classic films of the silver screen. LUANA’s professionals stir up movie magic mixology beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Soar + Savor at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort

In an exclusive partnership with Maverick Helicopters, both companies are taking the term “luxploration” to daring new heights in a new monthly culinary event coined, “Soar + Savor.” Take flight with Andaz Maui and Executive Chef Isaac Bancaco over Maui’s authentic and remote landscape while enjoying a Hawaiian culinary experience.
An intimate group of six guests will soar over Maui’s North Shore, taking in breathtaking sea cliffs and cascading waterfalls with aerial shoreline perspectives above Paia, Ho’okipa, Haiku and beyond, before landing within the Hana rainforest. Once in Hana, the group will learn about the culture, history, land, native vegetation and plants of the area before returning back to the 15-acre beachfront Andaz Maui for an intimate cooking class in the resort’s signature restaurant, Ka’ana Kitchen.

This all-inclusive experience will be offered once a month, with special celebrity guest chefs such as Brandon Jiu, Sheldon Simeon, Marcel Vigeron and Fabiano Viviani to collaborate on a quarterly dinner with Isaac Bancaco in this new heli-foraging trend. This talented group of guest chefs is comprised of restaurant owners and entrepreneurs, cookbook authors and former contestants on the hit Bravo TV show, “Top Chef.” The chefs look forward to partnering with Isaac Bancaco as they will fuse their culinary styles with his to create a memorable and interactive dining experience. This exclusive experience launches January 25th, with all-inclusive pricing at $1200.00 per person.

Humuhumu Reimagination at Grand Wailea,
A Waldorf Astoria Resort

On the heels of a completed renovation of its signature restaurant Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, now affectionately dubbed Humuhumu, the transformation represents one phase of a recent $70 million resort refresh.

The reopening debuted Humuhumu’s new design: the restaurant sits atop a fresh water lagoon, while native Ohia woods form the restaurant’s modern Hawaiian details, which represent a subtle nod to ocean themes, including voyaging. A Polynesian thatch-roof completes the design.

Guests can enjoy award-winning Chef Mike Lofaro’s newly-introduced menu of Hawaii Seasonal Cuisine. The reinvigorated menu features an emphasis on delectable island fish and meat entrees with Polynesian and Hawaiian influences infused throughout. Guests can also savor Chef Mike’s take on traditional poi.

Humuhumu is open nightly for dinner, from 5 to 9:00 p.m., and the lounge is open until 11 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, serving Chef Mike Lofaro’s Hawaiian Seasonal Cuisine. Reservations are recommended.
