Renowned Taiko Drum Artists Coming to Musco Center

TAO: Drum Heart will present a modern, high-energy performance showcasing the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming, which has transfixed audiences worldwide. A Not-to-be-Missed Performance by De Angelis Vocal Ensemble

In a performance titled “Sacré France,” the De Angelis Vocal Ensemble will perform the final concert of their 13th season at Christ Cathedral’s Arboretum on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. The concert, featuring French music of the 20th century, will showcase Poulenc’s Mass in G with other sacred music, which includes music of Poulenc’s contemporaries: Descenclos, Villette and Duruflé. Renowned Author/Illustrator Featured Speaker at Witte 
Lecture Series

The Newport Beach Public Library Foundation’s 21st Annual Witte Series is featuring Maira Kalman in the “Art & the Power of Not Knowing” on April 6 at 7 p.m. and April 7 at 2 p.m. Kalman is the author and illustrator of 25 books for children and young adults, and her design work includes designing fabrics and accessories with Isaac Mizrahi, Kate Spade and Michael Maharam, as well as ballet sets and costumes for the Mark Morris Dance Company.
