Chapman’s Sixth Annual Alumni Entertainment Industry Mixer

Nearly 500 Chapman University alumni flooded the Lionsgate Entertainment Headquarters in Santa Monica for a night of lively conversations, networking, photo booth pictures and school spirit. As the University’s largest and most anticipated networking event of the year, the Annual Alumni Entertainment Industry Mixer illustrates the diverse talent and leadership of Chapman graduates in the competitive field of entertainment. Segerstrom Center Dance Series Opens with World Premiere

“Isadora,” the world premiere of the new ballet showcasing the life of dance legend Isadora Duncan, will open the 2018-19 International Dance Series for Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Slated for August 10-12, 2018, the ballet will star today’s reigning prima ballerina Natalia Osipova. Other impressive offerings include the Mikhailovsky Ballet and Orchestra (Nov. 9-11, 2018), American Ballet Theatre (Jan. 17-20, 2019), Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg (May 24-26, 2019), Mark Morris Dance Group (June 14-15, 2019), and ABT’s famous “Nutcrackcer” (Dec. 14-23, 2018). Concerts on the Green Return

The Newport Beach City Arts Commission presents four Concerts on the Green this summer. They include: June 17 – Matt Mauser, a Celebration of the Music of Frank Sinatra; July 15 – The Springsteen Experience; August 12 – Tijuana Dogs; September 9 – Desperado Eagles Tribute. “Hollywood and Violins” Aboard a Famous Yacht

Performing on acoustically matched violins designed and crafted by famed luthier Dr. Carleen Hutchins, the Hutchins Consort entertained 108 guests aboard John Wayne’s famous yacht, the Wild Goose, with songs from classic Hollywood films. Themed “Hollywood and Violins,” a champagne reception and silent auction filled with fun trips helped net $30,200 for the Consort’s educational outreach programs. HutchinsConsort.org

Historic Wedding

James Myford Irvine and Susan Jeske will be married at the Irvine Ranch Historic Park. Irvine, the youngest grandson of the late James Irvine II, who formed The Irvine Company, was born and raised at the original Irvine family home at the park, which is now the Katie Wheeler Library (James’s aunt). James is a businessman and real estate investor and Susan, who has won many beauty titles, including the Ms. America title in 1997 (she has been CEO of the Pageant since 1999), has sung for seven U.S. Presidents.
