Great places to eat and bring your pups in Newport Beach
Stepping out into the California sun to enjoy great food is a must. Being able to make it a family outing by bringing your kids and pets could make it even better. Newport Beach houses three particular kid-and-pet-friendly locations we must mention. These restaurants not only offer delectable California fare, they offer a perfect setting for the whole family. Whether you are in the mood for a dockside view, inspired global fare or exciting local flavors, Newport Beach is our backyard for casual beachside bites that are family, kid, and pet friendly.
Lighthouse Bayview Cafe
Nestled right on the Newport Peninsula is the Lighthouse Bayview Cafe. Gorgeous floor to ceiling windows make way for the beaming sunlight at this tranquil waterfront location. Every seat in the house has a view, especially the patio that wraps around the main restaurant. Diners can pull right up to the restaurant in their boats, pit-stop while out for a walk or let it be a destination to gather. Head out to the patio where the fresh water and shade is plentiful so if your pets are with you, they feel right at home. The sand is merely steps away, where the kids can have fun too playing and splashing in the sun.
Executive Chef Ryan Sumner is heading the Lighthouse kitchen in a big way. Opened in December, 2015, Chef Ryan has made waves in the community with his creative menus and his constant pursuit of making everything better and better.
Classically French-trained, Chef Sumner believes in a lighter approach to food while still utilizing the freshest most seasonal ingredients he can find. At a very young age “working in my parent’s store–Irvine Ranch Market–I was exposed to a lot of different ingredients which really sparked my interest.” Chef Sumner is elevating what you may expect from a casual beach side café with popular dishes such as their seared Hoakkaido scallops with baby zucchini and cauliflower puree, that keep travelers and locals alike coming back for more. Most recently, Chef Sumner was chosen as one of Orange County’s top chefs to participate in the annual Table for 10 charity event held at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort benefiting the Teen Project and Vocational Visions on March 11, 2018.

The gorgeous outdoor space creates the perfect backdrop for your pets to visit too. Well-behaved dogs, including service dogs, are welcome inside.
